Golden Gate Drama Ministry (GODRAM) has a fascinating journey that blends creativity, divine inspiration, and a passion for storytelling. It all began on February 8, 2009, when Mr. Daniel Ayantoye founded the Golden Gate Theatre House (GGTH) in Calabar, Cross River State. His vision was simple yet powerful: to produce captivating Nollywood films that would entertain and inspire.
As the years went by, GGTH became a breeding ground for young, talented individuals who aspired to make their mark in the Nigerian movie industry. Under the guidance of Mr. Ayantoye, the theatre house didn’t just create films; it nurtured the next generation of actors, producers, and creatives. Among its celebrated works were the gripping movie The Unfortunate, released in 2010, and the much-loved television drama series Baba Pate the Landlord, alongside a host of other notable productions.
Yet, in 2022, something profound happened. Through a divine spark of inspiration, Mr. Ayantoye felt a calling that would redefine the direction of the organization. Guided by faith, he made the courageous decision to shift from secular movie production to a more spiritually centered mission. Thus, Golden Gate Theatre House transformed into Golden Gate Drama Ministry (GODRAM), with a renewed focus on spreading the Gospel through the powerful medium of drama.
This bold new chapter culminated in the official launch of GODRAM on March 2, 2025, in Ibadan. What began as a vision to entertain has now evolved into a ministry dedicated to using the arts to inspire, teach, and uplift people through the message of faith and hope.
From its humble beginnings to its divine transformation, GODRAM stands as a testament to the power of creativity guided by purpose. It’s a ministry not just about drama, but about changing lives and touching hearts, one performance at a time.
